Kaomai Lanna Hotel and Resort is a unique boutique accommodation on the route from Chiangmai to Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand. Our rooms are renovated from the former tobacco curing barns, decorated in contemporary Lanna style with colonial style teak wood antique furniture.
Looking at these barns from the outside, one can see the roofs made of corrugated steel sheets and the old red-brick walls, unchanged throughout the past 50 years. Two storey guestrooms decorated in Northern Thai contemporary style, each equipped with modern facilities including a television, refrigerator and bathtub. The upper and lower level rooms are furnished in two unique ways. While guests on upper floors will experience the Thai Lannas tradition of sleeping on a mattress set on a raised teak wooden floor, Guests on the lowers floor will find their rooms furnished with authentic teak wood antique beds. These are perfect places for romantic honeymoon couples.

Herbs and vegetables are the mainstays of the resort's agriculture output and in between these old buildings are the gardens of chilies, sweet basil and countless other herbs capable of adding that famous bite to the sumptuous Thai and Lanna food served from the kitchen .Located in one of the old kilns in the resort.
The tropical style restaurant , in the entrance area, enticing passer by and guest alike decorated with wooden furniture in rural style, the gorgeous restaurant serves delicious local northern cuisine. Enjoy a variety of Thai - Chinese menu and typical northern dish "Kua-Kae" in pleasant surroundings with its forest-cooled open-air and relaxed atmosphere at our restaurant.

:: Wat Chedi Luang
This 14th century temple, where the City Pillar Shrine is located, is famous for its enormous chedi, which is measured at 282 feet high and 144 feet wide (at the base). Located right in the middle of the city, it is considered to be the largest chedi in Chiang Mai. Its spire collapsed in 1545 due to an earthquake. A pair of magnificent Naga staircases at the front porch of the chapel is among the most beautiful manmade serpents in the North. Chao Khun Uba Lee Poramacharn (Sirichantathera) and Chao Kaeo Navarat built the front chapel in 1928.
Huai Luek Royal Project Development Centre
Location: Ban Huai Luek, Bueng Khong sub-district, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Tel. 053 45116 Fax. 053 229635 The center serves as a demonstrative development model for the hill tribe people based on the philosophy of promoting proper agricultural technology to hill tribe farmers. The site is open for the public to explore pilot plots of vegetables, flowers, fruits, Hmongs plantation and the Poi River. In addition, the Royal Project Foundation has its own shop selling daily fresh produce. Tours complete with a lecturer can be arranged in advance and advanced reservation is recommended for group visits. Toilets and parking areas are also available.
