Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi is spread over 60 acres of peaceful, natural landscapes, incorporating serene paddy fields and exotic plantations. We offer a self contained world of beauty, wellness and a cultural museum dedicated to the Lanna kingdom.

Whilst the Dheva Spa is our spiritual soul, Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi is also the perfect retreat to experience the rich heritage of Northern Thailand. Ban Sam Lang, our cultural centre is dedicated to maintaining the many fading traditions offering a glimpse of life in the past; we offer our Oriental Culinary Academy and our Lanna Kids Club that will expand the imagination of all young explorers. And when you stay with us, whether you choose our suites, villas or Residences you will find architectural tributes to the ancient kingdom of Lanna.

The design of our suites, villas and residences is a visual journey through the history of the Lanna region, from the glory of northern Thailand to the influences of neighbouring Myanmar, China and Laos and the introduction of colonial architecture.

We offer our guests the choice of private two-floor villas, colonial-style suites or the grandeur of our Residences. All of our spacious suites and villas have separate sitting areas and generously proportioned bathrooms and some villas feature private outdoor plunge pools. Throughout our resort, we offer an atmosphere of culture and calm, with the display of beautiful artifacts from our private collection amidst the welcome shroud of lush tropical greenery.

Villa : The design of our suites, villas and residences is a visual journey through the history of the Lanna region, from the glory of northern Thailand to the influences of neighbouring Myanmar, China and Laos and the introduction of colonial architecture.

Suites : Neighbouring influences introduced colonial architecture to Northern Thailand and we bring that classic elegance to life in our colonial suites.

Our suites run the length of a white colonnade lined with green palms and dark shutters. Located around the gardens near the swimming pool and lobby they are a more sociable option to the private villas and it is easy to arrange connecting rooms.

The interiors evoke a bygone era of elegant grandeur. Each suite has a separate living room and a large private verandah. The ceilings soar to five metres enhancing the feeling of airy spaciousness, so inviting in the tropics. All guests enjoy the dedicated service of our butlers.

Choose from our Colonial, the more spacious Deluxe Colonial, Grand Deluxe Colonial or our magnificent 2 bedroom Mandarin Suite. For those many guests intent on frequent spa therapies we recommend our spa suites.

Residence : All the components of an ancient city exist within our fortified walls, including examples of the finest residences and each offers one of today?s most valued luxuries, privacy.

We offer three magnificent residences for parties of up to 12 guests. These are the ideal choice for discerning travellers, celebrities and visiting royalty who wish to preserve their privacy.

Spa : The Dheva Spa is named after the Star Goddess, guardian of longevity and spiritual enlightenment.

Our staff are trained at our on site Academy, to the highest levels of professionalism. We offer an extensive range of holistic therapy: healing treatments, prescribed residential Wellness Programmes and our world renowned Ayurvedic centre. Beyond prescribed therapies we offer spiritual and physical guidance with yoga, pilates and exercise regimes.

The Dheva Spa?s facilities include no less than 25 treatment suites all designed for complete sensory harmony and our glorious heat & aqua oasis. Thailand?s first world-class destination spa is unique in both concept and design; created under the auspices of two health specialistsand inspired by an ancient  Mandalay Palace. The seven tiered roof is representative of the journey we hope you will begin with us, that is the seven steps to nirvana and the attainment of spiritual and physical perfection.

Dining : Each evening you can meander through our ?city? and choose a new dining experience. We offer marvellous settings inspired by the history of Lanna and cuisine that has gained both an international and highly valued local reputation.

Le Grand Lanna is a renowned Chiang Mai establishment for authentic Thai cuisine; our Mediterranean restaurant is such a delight and nowhere creates dim sum delicacies as we do in Fujian.

During the day there is always a soothing view, a shady terrace and poolside service. Below we have detailed our dining options but the choice is only limited by your imagination. We are delighted to create private dining to your personal brief, from a torch lit barbecue in your villa to a candlelit dinner amidst the paddy fields.

Business : Sometimes it is vital to remove yourself entirely from a business environment to find that creative inspiration or space to think. Conducting business from Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi will be as relaxing an experience as work could ever be; a recipe for inspiration.

Ensconced in an entirely private world of calm and beauty, surrounded by serene verdant landscapes, you will find nonetheless every business efficiency at your fingertips.

    Doi Luang Chiang Dao

Doi Luang Chiang Dao is a limestone mountain in the Chiang Dao Wildlife Reserve area, Amphoe Chiang Dao. This cone-shaped mountain is 2,195 metres from sea level, which makes it the third highest mountain in Thailand after Doi Inthanon and Doi Pha Hom Pok. Narrow plains on top of the mountain overlook spectacular views that include a sea of fog on the Amphoe Chiang Dao side, Doi Sam Phi Nong, the Chiang Dao mountain range, and the far end of Doi Inthanon. The peak is cool and windy. It is full of rare highland flowers, birds, and butterflies. Visiting Doi Chiang Dao needs an approval letter from the Director of Wildlife Reserve Division, Royal Forest Department. It must arranged at least 2 weeks before travelling. Contact tel. 0-2561-2947 for more information.

Sao Inthakil or Sao Lak Muang

The city pillar was built when the founder of Chiang Mai, King Meng Rai, ruled the city in 1296. Located in front of Wat Chedi Luang and enshrined in a small Thai chapel, the pillar is made of log and kept underground. The Khao Inthakil or city pillar celebration is held annually in May.
